Unified Extensions Settings

Unified Extension Set Up: For NEWTCF Administrators

Unified extensions (sometimes referred to as twinning) is way of connecting phone extensions together. This is ideal for “on the go” users that have a main Phone, but also need to be able to answer their phone on the go, using the NEWT Mobile App.

Check out the video tutorial here, or view the information below:

Once joined, all extensions unified, behave as a single extension. Voicemails will sit with the "main" extension, along with other features and settings (such as Outbound Caller ID, Call flow and Call recordings).

NEWT will set up unified extensions for you, when ordered. To identify unified extensions in the Administrative panel:

  1. Navigate to the Extensions tab.

  2. Unified extension information is visible in the two "Unified Ext" columns located in the list.

    • The "Main" column contains a check mark for the Main (parent) extension.

    • The "Unified to" column contains the associated subordinate (child) extension. In the screenshot below, extension 460 (Main) is unified to extension 501 (Subordinate).

This is set up by NEWT and cannot be modified. For additional set up or removal – please send your request to your sales rep or email us at newtmac@fibernetics.ca
