Extension Device Credential Management

Device Credential Management: For NEWTCF Administrators

Some extensions require log in credentials for access. To retrieve credentials for a user:

  1. In the Extension Tab of NEWTCF, click on the pencil icon at the end of the targeted extension.

  2. In the Extension Settings, scroll down to the Device Credentials section.

NEWT DESKTOP Credentials

The Username and Password are shown here for user’s log in credentials. When this is set up, you can send the credentials to the user via email. The email will include the URL to download the software + the username and password information.

The password can be reset using the Password Reset button. A warning dialogue is issued when a password reset is attempted. The password change is applied almost instantly once the PBX's Save & Update button is clicked.

If the device is already authenticated, then the extension will not be able to send or receive calls until it is re-authenticated with the new password!

3rd Party SIP Credentials

This option will show for “3rd party SIP” extensions only. These credentials are giving the user to sign in to 3rd party phones or software. NEWT cannot guarantee or support the functionality of the SIP devices in these cases. These can be copied and sent to the installer.
