Extension Device Credential Management
NEWT DESKTOP and NEWT MOBILE Apps require credentials to sign into the app upon set up, in order for the phone to activate.
Credentials are sent upon set up when first purchased, but you may be asked to resend credentials or reset a password.
Check out the video tutorial or view the step by step instructions below:
In the Extension Tab of NEWTCF, click on the pencil icon at the end of the targeted extension.
In the Extension Settings, scroll down to the Device Credentials section.
NEWT DESKTOP Credentials
The Username and Password are shown here for user’s log in credentials. When this is set up, you can send the credentials to the user via email. The email will include the URL to download the software + the username and password information.
The password can be reset using the Password Reset button. A warning dialogue is issued when a password reset is attempted. The password change is applied almost instantly once the PBX's Save & Update button is clicked.
If the device is already authenticated, then the extension will not be able to send or receive calls until it is re-authenticated with the new password!

NEWT MOBILE Credentials
Users must first download the app to their mobile device (search for NEWT MOBILE in the App Store).
A QR Code will be sent in the email. Once the app is first opened – the log in screen will appear with an option to scan the QR code to log in.

3rd Party SIP Credentials
This option will show for “3rd party SIP” extensions only. These credentials are giving the user to sign in to 3rd party phones or software. NEWT cannot guarantee or support the functionality of the SIP devices in these cases. These can be copied and sent to the installer.
