Voicemail Access and Set Up
Setting up your Voicemail
To first access your voicemail, begin by pressing the "“Messages” button on your handset or by dialing *98 from your NEWT phone.
You will be prompted to enter the temporary password initially defaulted, which is your extension number.
The system will prompt you to enter a new password. The new password must not be your extension number. The system will prevent you from moving forward, if you attempt to re-enter your extension number as your new password.
Once your new password is set, you will then receive prompts from the system, to record your name and your Unavailable message.
Temporary Greetings - Record a temporary message for vacations or short absences, to avoid recording over your main greeting. When a temporary message is recorded, it will automatically become the active greeting. By deleting your temporary greeting when you return to work, the system will revert to your main greeting.
Note - if you have forgotten your new password, this can be retrieved or reset by logging into your extension via your NEWTCF instance ( See Extension Settings Article) or by asking your NEWT PBX Administrator to retrieve or reset it for you.
