Hot Desking/Hoteling is a feature that can be enabled on the NEWT PBX. This feature allows users to login and out of their extension from any available handset on their Main PBX or any peered PBX handset. This is beneficial for employees that may share an office/phone location. In addition to staff that frequently travel between office locations.
How to use the Hot Desking/Hoteling Feature:
Once enabled, users can dial 87 xxx (XXX being the users extension number) followed by the dial soft key.
The system will prompt the user to enter their voicemail password for the associated extension.
The system will prompt the user with a confirmation message stating that the user/extension is "logged in".
To disable, users can dial 87 xxx (XXX being the users extension number) followed by the dial soft key.
If you are experiencing issues, the hotdesking feature may not be enabled. To have this feature enabled please have your administrator contact their NEWT provider or newtsupport@fibernetics.ca
