Messages

Users can use the chat feature to send instant messages to others instead of calling them.

Use the following steps to send a chat message:

New phone numbers

1. Select Keypad from the left navigation menu.

2. Dial the phone number using the dialer.

3. Select the Chat  button below the dialer.

New conversation

1. Select Start Chat  on the Main window.

2. Under the New Chat pane, select the contact. The contact name and phone number are displayed in the right pane.

3. Select the Start Chat button.

 After composing messages, select Send.

Media Files

The users can exchange media files including documents, photos, videos, and audio files with other users with the companies phone environment (not available for external texting). Also, they can download, delete, and forward these media files. The maximum media file size is 32MB.

1. Select the Attach  icon in the text field. A file explorer window displays.

2. Navigate to the location storing the files.

3. Select file(s) to attach.

4. (Optional) Enter text in the text field.

5. Select Send .

   Note: To remove any file, select the Delete  icon before sending it out.

SMS Texting

If your company has enabled SMS texting with external parties for your extension, your extension will be tied to a local phone number (not available for Toll Free) for sending and receiving texts in the messages tab.

Please note, texts with no files (SMS) will go through if being sent to a texting enabled device. Texts with files, media, or images (MMS) will fail as MMS is not available.

Deleting Messages

1. Select Message from the left navigation menu.

2. Under the MESSAGES pane, right-click the conversation.

3. Select Delete all messages.

Note: Users can also select the Trash  icon at the top right corner on the right pane.

Caution! By selecting Delete complete history, all records across the application will be removed, including quick dial contact records.
