Conference Bridge Settings

How to Manage Conference Bridges: For NEWTCF Administrators

A conference bridge is a form of remote meeting using a business phone system. Conference bridges allow employees to dial into virtual meetings from a phone. Compared to a standard three-way call feature, conference bridges allow for a virtually unlimited number of participants.

If the Conference Bridge feature is on, here is what you will see:

Conference Bridge Settings

Description – This can be changed to the desired naming convention. Simply edit the name within the line.

General Pin – The general pin begins with 3 digits that are automatically set to 000. You will then need to add the rest of the PIN # you would like the users to enter, when calling into the conference. This can be from 2-4 digits long. * Ensure that users know they need to enter the full Pin (including the first 3 numbers) when prompted, to enter the conference.

Mute Pin – This allows a participant to join the conference and listen only (optional).

Leader Pin – This allows a leader (or moderator) to start the conference upon joining (optional).

Extension - If an extension is assigned specifically to this bridge, the general pin will then begin with the 3-digit extension # instead of the default 000

No Tone – this can be toggled on if you prefer not to hear a tone when someone joins the conference.

Access to a conference bridge from internal extensions is achieved by dialing 88001.

Externally, you can add the conference bridge to your keypress menu option on your Automated Attendant.
