Paging
How to page through the speakerphone and/or an overhead speaker

Paging allows a user to send a one-way broadcast page through the speakerphones on compatible handsets.

Direct Extension Paging

Users can page directly to a desired extension number on the same PBX, broadcasting a message that will be heard on the speaker phone of that extension.

  • Dial 6 + the extension number followed by the DIAL soft key (i.e.: PAGE to extension 200, you would dial 6200 plus the DIAL soft key)

Paging to all Phones/ Handsets

Users can send a one-way broadcast page globally through the speaker on all compatible handsets.

  • Press the MORE soft key once and select the PAGE option. This will allow the user to broadcast a message globally to all extensions. This can also be accomplished by dialing 77007 followed by the Dial soft key

Zone Paging

This feature will allow you to specify multiple extensions that belong to unique paging zones. For example, you may wish to set up a warehouse paging zone that would only include phones within the warehouse.

  • Once paging zones are set up, each zone can be paged by dialing 7800+ the zone number followed by the Dial softkey (i.e. 78001 for Paging Zone 1 or 78002 for Paging Zone 2)

Overhead Paging

If your NEWT Business phone is integrating with your overhead paging system, you can broadcast to this system alone, or this system and all phones.

  • Page Overhead only by dialing 77009 followed by the Dial soft key.

  • Page all Phones & Overhead by dialing 77008 followed by the Dial soft key.

To turn off paging for a particular extension, please have your administrator contact their NEWT Business Phone provider or NEWT Support (611)
