How to Reboot your Phone
Reboot to capture configurations and bring your phone online

Rebooting your phone is done to refresh the phones relationship to the PBX in the event of an update to the extensions configuration.

To Reboot your Grandstream Device:

Using the phone's menu

  1. Press the Center key or the dot key to open the menu

  2. Use the arrow keys to navigate to Reboot

  3. Press the Center key or dot key again to confirm

  4. The phone will display a message indicating it's preparing to reboot

If rebooted successfully, you will see your extension number and the NEWT icon.

To Reboot your Poly Device:

  1. Select Settings from the Main Menu

  2. Navigating to Basic

  3. Select Reboot

  4. Selecting Yes or OK when prompted

If rebooted successfully, you will see your extension number and the NEWT icon.

In the event that the phones do not successfully auto-provision,  please check to see if the device is getting an IP address by completing the following steps :

  1.  Grandstream device: circle button > status > network status > Check for IPv4 to find the appropriate IP address

  2. Poly device: Click house button >  Settings >  Status> Network > tcp/Ip  Parameters > Check for IPv4 to find the appropriate IP address

If the phone is not getting an IP address, please contact NEWT Support for the next steps.

Please note: In the Cloud unmanaged network topology, ownership of IP assignment lies within the customer's wheelhouse.  In very rare circumstances, NEWT support can assist with this but overall, the customer's IT will need to consider their networking and firewall settings.
