Call Transferring
Send your call to another extension or phone number

Call Transferring can be completed one of two ways. A blind transfer (sending the caller to another extension right away) or an attended transfer (talking to the person you will be transferring the caller to, before sending).

To transfer a call on a Poly phone:

  1. While on an active call, press the Transfer soft key

  2. Enter the extension number you want to transfer the call to

  3. Press the Send soft key

  4. To Blind Transfer, simply press the Transfer soft key again. To attend the transfer, wait for the recipient to pick up, talk to them, and then press the Transfer soft key.

To transfer a call on a Grandstream phone:

Blind Transfer:

  1. Answer the call

  2. Press the Transfer softkey or the transfer button

  3. Select BlindTrnf

  4. Dial the number to transfer the call to

  5. Press the transfer button again.

Attendant Transfer:

  1. Put the first call on hold

  2. Press an idle line key to make a new call

  3. Enter the extension of the person you want to transfer the call to

  4. Press the Transfer button

  5. Press the down arrow to select the call on hold

  6. Press OK

To transfer a call on the NEWT Desktop:

Blind Transfer:

  1. On an active call, select the Blind icon on the right pane. The call is placed on hold and the phone number field of the Keypad pane displays Transfer call

  2. Select Keypad from the left navigation menu

  1. Dial the extension

  1. Select the Call button below the dialer to initiate the call

  2. Once the new recipient answers the call, you will be dropped from the call

Attended transfer: 

  1. On an active call, select the Attend icon on the right pane. The call is placed on hold and the phone number field of the Keypad pane displays Transfer call

  2. Dial their extension and select the call button

  1. Speak with the new call recipient when the new call is answered

  2. Select the Complete Transfer icon to transfer the call. The right pane displays Transfer in progress when the transfer is successful

Note: If the new recipient does not answer the call, the right pane displays that the first call is still on hold. To cancel the unattended call operation, select the Cancel X icon
